Occasionally we meet someone who is inspirational either because of what they do or say or perhaps how they behave. Mr Philip Stead, Logistics Manager for Westminster Aviation Security Services (WASS) based in West Africa, was such a person.
Phil had been fighting cancer for some time but sadly it got the better of him in the last couple of weeks and Phil died at home this morning with his family at his side.
Despite his illness Phil was determined to live life to the full and loved his job with WASS working with our teams in West Africa, a region he was very fond of. He had lived and worked in various countries in West Africa over the years and met his wife Flo in Liberia. The courageous and matter of fact way he dealt with his illness, the care and consideration he gave to others, the kindness and generosity he showed to those around him, particularly the poor in Africa and the obvious love for his family was an inspiration to all of us who knew him.
