Contract Award: Essex Police deploy CEIA OPENGATE to tackle crime

Westminster Group recently worked with Essex Police to trial and identify a suitable, Mass Weapon Detection solution.

Following a series of trials, Westminster Group has successfully commissioned a Mass Weapons Detection Solution to Essex Police.

The rapidly deployable CEIA OPENGATE can detect a series of dangerous items, which can be used to cause mass casualties.

Commenting on the successful trial, Business Development Manager, Lorraine Hellend said:

“Westminster Group (WG)regularly supplies specialist security equipment to multiple police forces across the country. WG’s close working relationship with manufacturers enables them to identify the correct solution for clients.”

“Westminster works closely with CEIA and has recently been made a premium partner. This allows us to offer products at competitive rates, whilst still adding value through our expertise and specialist services. Mass Screening Solutions will form a vital role within the upcoming protect duty legislation and Westminster are well placed to offer guidance, assistance and assurance to those organisations it will effect”.

Trials took place earlier this year, with a permanent placing of CEIA OPENGATE taking effect in the summer. Essex Police issued a press release: Southend: New knife detector helps to keep the city safe

Mass Weapon Detection solutions are an ideal solution to tackle crime hotspots or disrupt criminal activity. The CEIA OPENGATE is rapidly deployable and weatherproof, making it a versatile screening solution.

CEIA OPENGATE can screen over 2,500 people per hour, without the requirement to divest or remove keys, wallets, mobile phones, or small electronics.

CEIA OPENGATE is suitable for police forces as well as vulnerable venues and publicly accessible locations (PALS) such as sports stadiums; festivals and music venues; hotels; pubs; clubs; bars and casinos; high streets; retail stores; shopping centres and markets; schools and universities; medical centres and hospitals; places of worship; Government offices; job centres; transport hubs; parks; beaches; public squares and other open spaces.
