Westminster Group have won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

We are very proud to announce that Westminster have won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade field.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for UK business. The Award was instituted by Royal Warrant in 1965 with the first Awards made in 1966, and they were designed to recognise outstanding achievements in business.

Over the years, the Awards have been changed to recognise outstanding achievements in numerous different fields. These fields are:

·        Innovation

·        International Trade

·        Sustainable Development

·        Promoting Opportunity (Through Social Mobility)

Westminster won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade because we met the strict list of requirements and have shown that we have achieved outstanding growth in overseas business and have outperformed other businesses in the security sector.

As a reward for winning, Westminster will be presented with a Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal trophy by one of The Queen’s representatives, will be able to fly The Queen’s Awards flag at our office in Banbury and use the emblem on all our marketing materials and website. If COVID rules allow, representatives from Westminster will also be invited to a Royal reception.

Peter Fowler commented on the award,

“I am delighted that Her Majesty the Queen has approved the Prime Minister’s recommendation that Westminster be awarded a Queen’s Award in recognition of our outstanding contribution to International Trade. The significance of this prestigious award is recognised worldwide and is an indication of the growth and momentum we have achieved with our world-wide business over the past few years. In November 2020 Westminster was recognised by the London Stock Exchange as one of the select 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain and to have now been selected for this distinguished award is an honour, not just for the Company but for all our employees around the world who have contributed to this success. Covid-19 travel restrictions etc. continue to create challenges for our business, however all indications are we will see a strong recovery this year as restrictions are lifted and I look forward to a robust performance for 2021. My best wishes and sincere thanks to you all – stay safe!”

Winning the Award will mean that Westminster could benefit from worldwide recognition, increased commercial value and greater press coverage.
