The opening of the Academy is in response to the increasing demand for Longmoor CP courses and will enable the Company to further expand the range and scope of its courses, both residential and non-residential. New courses offered will include: expanded ship’s security officer training, conflict management, hostile environment awareness advanced trauma medical, hostage rescue and survival training, major incident management and communications.

The Academy is a 19,000 sq ft, 30 bedroom, self contained training centre comprising of a number of training rooms, lecture halls, catering and leisure facilities all set within 442 acres of grounds in central England with easy access to the M40.

The Academy is extremely well appointed; all bedrooms are on-suite, there are various size training rooms and lecture halls to suit varying class sizes and the facility offers delegates unrivalled leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool, squash courts, tennis courts, gymnasium and golf course.

Commenting on the opening of the Academy Peter Fowler, Group Chief Executive Officer, said:

“I am delighted to be announcing the opening of the Longmoor Training Academy which we believe is the best training facility of its type in the country and offers tremendous potential for the expansion of Longmoor’s training services. Enquiries for the Longmoor training courses are running at an all time high and this new facility will enable us to run simultaneous courses as well as introducing additional courses, all increasing revenue and potentially reducing costs.

“The market in personal protection has grown significantly with the much publicised increase in kidnap, hostage taking, ransom demand and targeted theft of wealthy and high profile individuals and the Longmoor courses are designed to enable individuals to operate as professionals within this sector.

“Demand for our courses is being further fuelled by the reductions in the armed forces, with approximately 15,000 people forecast to leave the armed forces this year. Ex military and ex police recognise the enhanced career options available to them having completed the Longmoor Security Industry Authority (SIA) accredited course. Without such accreditation an individual cannot legally work within the private security industry.

“In addition we are receiving enquiries for our courses from our growing international network of governmental clients and the establishment of this new Academy will be of significant benefit in building on these opportunities by enabling us to run high level discrete residential courses for governmental organisations such as police and Special Forces.

“Last but not least this new facility will be most useful to other companies within our group for lectures, meetings and training facilities”
