A large contingent of Westminster Group personnel joined me at the ADS (the UK Aerospace, Defence, Security & Space organisation) Annual Security Reception 2014 held at the House of Lords in London last Thursday evening.
Whilst standing on the terrace overlooking the River Thames, London itself and the Palace of Westminster in particular with all its rich history, I was conscious of how lucky we are in this country with all its laws, stability, tolerance and traditions.
The various speakers which included The Rt Hon. Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones DCMG PC, the Prime Minister’s Special Representative to Business on Cyber Security and James Brokenshire MP, the Immigration & Security Minister, all spoke eloquently about the growth and successes of the British security industry, particularly in terms of export, which is Westminster’s focus and where we excel in helping protect people, assets and critical infrastructure worldwide.
Made me feel proud of what we do, proud of my team and proud to be British.
