Westminster Group Plc subsidiary company Westminster Aviation Security Services Ltd recently completed a third Airport Supplies AvSec training course for Norbert Dentressangle’s security staff, this time at the “Consolidation Centre” at Manchester Airport.
The Consolidation Centre is a logistics centre for all items going “Airside” to the retail and concession units at the Airport, all retailer’s goods are mandated to go through an X-ray screening or physical search process to ensure that there are no prohibited or restricted items going Airside.
Consolidation Centres are split into “Landside” and “Airside” areas with all the staff working airside and driving the delivery vehicles being searched in accordance with the same regime seen in the terminal building, the AvSec security staff training incorporates a number of different facets including X-Ray, Physical Search (person and goods) Visual Search Vehicle Searching and Sealing, CCTV, and Asset Protection.
